Starting to put together a wish list

When I first swapped out my inline 6, I had purchased a used AMC 304. The 304 was out of a 1970's Wagoneer and included all of the pulleys and brackets. I needed to modify the alternator bracket to fit a modern alternator.

The alternator pulleys never really lined up that well, and it was difficult to keep the belt tight. I have been running with the same bracket for over a decade and I think now is the perfect time for an upgrade.

I am adding Bulltear's alternator bracket to my wish list for my build.

The Day The Engine Died

November 28,2009 my wife and I started down the highway to meet up with a friend. We started hearing a small knocking sound, which at first I thought was a header leak. Well the knocking got louder, so I pulled into the breakdown lane. That is when I decided it was time to call the time of death and shut it down. I put on the four way flashers and opened the hood. Smoke was pouring out of the carb, never a good sign. Called my dad who still had an old tow bar from back in the day when I would break my Jeep at least once a week. About 45 mins later we had the Jeep back in my garage.




As it sits today.



I am on the hunt for a new AMC 360 engine. I will start tearing it down and getting it ready.
